Meditation Night at SAT Temple 2012

Excerpt from the Meditation Instruction:

Nome: Sri Bhagavan says that to remain without the idea, "I am meditating", is meditation. Similarly in the Ribhu Gita, Ribhu states, "I am without meditation and without the absence of meditation". What is it in meditation to remain without the idea I am meditating? If meditation be an activity of some kind, then it will be an idea that I am meditating. But if meditation consists of Knowledge, self-luminous Knowledge, then it is quite free of the idea that I am meditating.

Excerpt from the Meditation Instruction:

Nome:It is unnoticed, yet self-evident. It is entirely real, yet utterly formless, space like and clear. It is and it knows. Uncountable, non-objective, it exists. It is existent itself, and it is of the nature of consciousness--illimitable, untouched, incomparable, undifferentiated consciousness. Meditation is knowing That, abidance as That, inquiring to discern That, recognizing That to such an extent that That alone is found to be. Who am I? This is the direct means to Self realization.

Excerpt from the Meditation Instruction:

Nome:Meditation is truly the silent abidance as egoless Existence. Silence is that in which no notion of "I" appears---no false suppositions about one self. Your very Existence is bodiless and consequently meditation is bodiless. Your Existence is transcendent of senses, and similarly meditation transcends the senses. Your Existence is no mere thought, and so meditation truly is thought transcendent.

Excerpt from Meditation Instruction:

Nome: Our real nature is not to be defined as an embodied individual. The Self is the neither a body nor an individual. This Self, ones own true nature, is itself the essence of meditation. Meditation is not practiced by an embodied individual, rather the dissolution of such misidentification is meditation.

Excerpt from the Meditation Instruction:

Nome: Meditation is silent absorption. It is silent absorption in the boundless space of Being. It is silent absorption in the endless illumination of consciousness. It is silent absorption in the shoreless ocean of Bliss. Such absorption is of the nature of direct and indubitable experience.

Excerpt from Meditation Instruction:

Nome: Consciousness not objectified is pure Being. This is the truth regarding you, and meditation is concerned with you, what you truly are, and not an other, not an object. In quest of yourself inquire into the nature of your Consciousness. Discarding or transcending sensations and mental conceptions what is this consciousness? Not identifying yourself as an individual entity or ego, what is this consciousness? What are you? It is unborn and indestructible. What is it?

Excerpt from Meditation Instruction:

Nome: Sri Ramana says that perfect peace is of the Self. The Self, which is changeless, which is infinite, is your peace. Meditate in a manner that leaves you absorbed in the peace of the Self. It is precisely where the false sense of separate individuality disappears that peace remains.

Excerpt from Meditation Instruction:

Nome: Abidance in the deep silence of differenceless, indestructible Being is truly meditation. The attempt to realize that by the power of your own light is also to be regarded as meditation. Such involves the cessation of misidentification with the body, the senses, the mind, or as an ego, an individual. Beyond the body you are indestructible; beyond the mind you are differenceless; without the ego you are.

Excerpt from Meditation Instruction:

Nome: One, ever-existent, utterly changeless Being, of the nature of self-luminous Consciousness is the Self. The revelation of this is the purpose of meditation. The revelation consists of knowledge, profound experiential knowledge, of what in truth you are, and this comes to be known by deep inquiry to find out who am I? This knowledge is the essential message coursing through the Sruthi, that is the Vedas; and all of the Sastras, or scriptures, have for their purpose the aim of coaxing you to turn inward, to know what in truth you are.

Excerpt from the Meditation Instruction:

Nome: Nonobjective is the knowledge of the Self, which is bodiless, mind transcedent, without least trace of individuality and self illuminous of the nature of being consiciousness bliss. It is silent, immutabely silent, invariablely silent, absolutely slient without the begining or bith and without end are the knowledge of the Self.

Excerpt from Meditation Instruction:

Nome: Meditate on the nature of the meditator. Meditate by inquiring profoundly as to what your real nature is. Your very existence, what is it? It cannot be known objectively. So, meditation transcends both sense perception and metal conception. Cease to regard your being in terms of the perceived and the conceived and realize what in truth you are.

Excerpt from Meditation Instruction:

Nome: Making your vision completely non-objective, your way of knowing completely non-objective, meditate by inquiring into the very nature of your being, by having your identity become absorbed in That.
